A traditional winch spools the entire length of rope or cable onto a drum, which means its pulling force decreases as the drum fills up. In contrast, a capstan winch, like the ones we manufacture, uses a revolving vertical drum. The rope or cable is wrapped around the drum but not stored on it, allowing for unlimited pull length and consistent pulling power from start to finish. This design is ideal for long-distance cable pulling in both overhead and underground projects.
